What we collect, and what we do not.

Last updated 2 October 2026

The short version

BuzzStop has no user accounts. Your Wi-Fi details, your bus stops and your alert schedule are written onto the device over the USB cable and are never sent to us. If you buy a device, our payment provider collects what is needed to take payment and deliver it. We never see your card number.

1. What the device sends

Your Wi-Fi network name and password, the bus stops you pair, and your alert schedule are stored on the device itself. They are written during setup over the USB cable and are not transmitted to us at any point.

Once running, the only network request the device makes is to fetch live arrival times for the stops paired to it. That request identifies the bus stop, not you.

2. The setup wizard

The setup wizard at buzzstop.co/setup runs entirely inside your browser and communicates with the device over USB. The values you type into it, including your Wi-Fi password, are sent to the device and not to us.

3. Buying a device

Payment is handled by our payment provider on a page they host. Your card details go to them and never reach us or this site.

To take the payment and get the device to you, they collect your name, email address, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses. They hold the order record, and we use it to pack and post your device and to answer you if you write to us about the order.

We do not sell your information. If you choose to receive BuzzStop updates and offers, Brevo stores your email address and subscription status and sends the confirmation and marketing emails. If you ask us to notify you when a device is available, we also record that request.

Brevo also stores the permission text and version shown to you, the time you submitted the form, and any availability request. This helps us manage your request and keep a record of your permission. A signup does not reserve a device.

4. The website

Our hosting provider runs this site on our behalf and keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.

We use a third-party analytics service to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies in your browser and receives usage data about your visit.

The live display on the home page requests arrival data for the bus stop shown. Like any web request, that carries your IP address to the server handling it.

5. How long we keep things

Order records are kept for as long as we need them for warranty, returns and tax, and then deleted. Signup records are kept while your subscription or availability request is active and for as long as needed to document permission and respect an unsubscribe. You can ask us to remove your details. Server logs and analytics follow the retention periods set by the providers that run them.

6. Removing your details

Email hello@buzzstop.co and we will delete what we can. You do not need to give a reason. You can also ask us what we hold about you. Records we must keep for tax or warranty are the exception, and we will say so if that applies.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
